RESPOPNSIBILTY

Corporate Social Responsibility is the upliftment of communities by corporate business. Over the years it has become an integral part of company policy and budgets.

By finding communities that lack support form standard channels, we go beyond the call, research the need and deliver with the assistance of your staff. We make it fun, interactive and life changing!

We do it to change lives, break down barriers and explore the different cultures and people of our beautiful country.

In all our CSR modules, we encourage delegates  to bring toys for younger children and books for older children, and blankets are always greatly appreciated.

PLAY PUMPS

One of the biggest challenges in rural South Africa is the access to clean drinking water. There are literally hundreds of schools facing this problem, which in turn brings about its own socioeconomic problems.

As a group, we take your delegates into these communities and schools. Whilst the heavy pre-work is done a few weeks in advance there is always work that needs to be done in and around the site, with the most important and interactive one being that of running water to a vegetable garden close by. This is where the teamwork comes in, delegates will dig beds, erect fences, mix in compost and plant the vegetables, all with the help of the school kids of the area…

DESK BUILDER

In many rural classrooms, it is not uncommon to find multiple students crowded into a single desk, sitting on benches, or sitting on the floor without a place to take notes. Teachers without a table will place teaching materials on a student’s desk. Primary schools are particularly challenged to provide accommodations for more students with fewer resources, and the government has not been able to ensure each school has the necessary pieces of classroom furniture.

As a teambuild and group inititative we pre-cut and design floor desks for kids. Grouyp is divided up into teams and its a ‘Bob the Builder’ type of day where each team will construct and put together as many desks as possible in an afternoon.

Desks get painted and then delivered to the chosen schools. This excersize can be done on site at chosen school or at the clients offices and the desks delivered the next day.

VEG GARDENS

Community vegetable gardens can help reduce negative environmental impacts by promoting sustainable agriculture; reducing food transportation costs and reducing water runoff. Humans, plants and animals can all benefit from urban/rural agriculture since it creates habitats and improves the ecology of the area.

One of the easiest ways of ensuring access to a healthy diet that contains adequate macro- and micro-nutrients is to produce many different kinds of foods in the home/school garden

When building gardens as a corporate program, the group is divided into teams. Each team has a job to complete, ranging from building a fence to running water lines.  At all times, the kids will be in attendance and will be working with the groups.

IMPROVEMENTS TO SPORT FACILITIES

Makeover of an old age home, creche, school, change rooms & sports facilities

In many communities we find that the facilities in institutions like old age homes, creches, schools etc are grossly under financed and in many cases are started by people in the community with no real means of ongoing support. Facilities tend to be run down, unhygienic and generally under stated.

In these instances corporates can pre-empt the day by collecting items that are needed, like kids reading books, wall paint, varnish for cupboards, food, educational toys etc. A full scope of what is required at the facility is pre-determined by our team, and on the day its all hands on deck with groups being allocated jobs and tasks and the work begins.

We have built and kitted out kitchens, build sports change rooms where kids were sharing toilets to change before sport, built netball courts and more...

BUILD A BIKE

bicycles make it easier for
schoolchildren to get to and from
school, helping to improve their
attendance and performance.

children and their coaches use
bicycles to access school and sports
activities, encouraging health and
saving them time.

One of the teambuilds we specialise in is taking un built bikes to communities where we spend the morning or afternoon putting the bikes together with the kids at school. After bikes are constructed we assist in teaching the kids safety and how to ride…
